Through the architectural design there has been an attempt for the hotel construction, to blend morphologically into the natural landscape of the Zagori villages in the region of Epirus, where strict and specific limitations occur. The field where the hotel was constructed is 1,383.31 m2. Three buildings were erected, which are totally 1, 270.00 m2. The complex was divided into three separate buildings with different size and capacity, so as to correspond to the general morphology of the area and the steep incline.
There has been a wooden roof with a coating of stones and up to date wooden window frames. The floor has been covered with stone, marble, ceramic tiles and wood, according to the functionality of the space. The appropriate electric, mechanical premises, as well as plumbing, digital systems, elevators, security system and biological cleaning, have been constructed in order to accomplish the best operation.
The orientation of all the main spaces of the hotel (lounge rooms, restaurant, rooms, suites) is south, with a stunning view of the whole area. The supplementary halls are located in the inner part of the hotel. All the levels of the three buildings and the surrounding area are connected with elevators and ramps for all visitors and mostly handicapped people. To enter the buildings someone must pass two curved stone bridges, reminding to the guests the curved bridges of the region. As far as the function is concerned, a gym, a spa with a heated pool, a sauna, hammam, a conference centre and an entertainment hall have been designed, according to the hotel needs.
One of the basic factors of construction was the right orientation of the buildings for the unique lighting and the right ventilation, as well as the integration in the natural and residential area. The guest will have the opportunity to see the three volumes of the buildings each one of different size, the pedestrian paths, the small squares, the flight of stairs heading to all parts of the hotel, outer and inner spaces, the bridges, the flower beds, the pavilions; an environment similar to the one of the whole regions of Epirus.
