The Abstruct Creative Architects Studio architect group undertook the task to implement the idea of experiencing the luxurious hospitality within an elegant environment. The main architectural designing target of “Robolo Boutique Hotel”, was the preservation and the enhancement of the building’s historical heritage, in conjunction with creating a luxurious, modern and functional hotel experience. Many elements of the already existed building were restored and reused, whereas others, totally new ones, were designed and constructed based on natural local materials, providing a harmonic combination of timeless sustainability and original aesthetic authenticity. The entire shell of the building was preserved whereas the roof, the floors and other internal infrastructure elements were reconstructed, following nevertheless the building’s original typology.
The hotel comprises 5 different bedrooms, the reception area and the lounge area, where fully-in-house prepared breakfast, based on exceptional delicate local products, is served. A harmonious blend of wood and metal was utilized throughout all building components, as well as furnishings and equipment. Hand-made solid wood floors and marquetry, carved planks, painted ceilings, hand-made metal doors and railings, the perforated metal panels in the courtyard, the logs and cast brass dining table along with the wood panelled fireplace, are some characteristic details of the architectural design. The meticulous bathroom design was also a highlight, where cement mortar was intertwined with copper and brass faucets, wooden and stone washbasins and tiles in special shapes, colouring and motifs. From textiles and functional equipment, to artworks and other decorative elements, the same design vision is evident.
Inside the appropriately configured yard, separated and protected from its surroundings by specially designed perforated metallic panels, stone, wood and metal are mixed with the plants, creating a beautiful and intimate scene, ideal for relaxation and gastronomy happenings. Abstruct Creative Architects Studio group, in an effort of an integrated design for the enterprise image, were responsible for the overall corporate identity design and as such, the design of the hotel signage, the corporate logo and business cards, the hotel directory, guest book and all other visual communication elements, were approached and completed the architectural concept by forming a unique identity.
