Redesigning a new apartment in the heart of Nea Paralia in Thessaloniki is always a big challenge. Great detail and emphasis were given on the simple lines, seeking a minimal-chic result. This apartment, located on the facade of the 2nd floor, is housed in one of the most prestigious new residential buildings in Thessaloniki and is in direct visual contact with the newly renovated seafront of the city.
As part of the complete reconstruction of the apartment, its entire layout was changed, in order to create a single space, which includes the living room, the kitchen and the dining room, which share a large opening, overlooking the Thermaicos Gulf.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are located to the right and left of the main living room, while all the spaces have been designed in such a way as to take advantage of the natural light and the wonderful view.
We were inspired by the neutral color palette, aiming to create a warm and welcoming home, which radiates serenity, through the simple lines of furniture and decorative elements.
The exceptional aesthetics and quality of handmade oak wood floors, which run through all the spaces, as well as the alternation of wood and stone textures, alternate harmoniously and lead to a deeply luxurious and cozy atmosphere.
The element of functionality "serves" the KNX smart home technology, which gives the owner the opportunity to control all the functions of the house from his mobile or PC.
In the kitchen-dining area, the strong presence of wood on large canvas surfaces in combination with black touches on furniture and home appliances, follows the general contemporary logic of the house, while maintaining the necessary sense of warmth.
In the master bedroom the rule of white and gray is "broken" by the presence of a wallpaper in bright colors behind the desk, as well as an armchair in a sweet, pink shade. Behind the fabric bed, large gray tiles are interrupted by a special construction with wooden blinds and hidden lighting.
In the open space of the living room, the minimal element is achieved through large surfaces covered with wood, which incorporate doors, without visible frame and sills, as well as the discreet holes of the air conditioning system.
In the center of this space, the imposing bioethanol fireplace is an integral part of a linear construction, separating the living room from the dining room and kitchen.
In the living room, the neutral shades and the dominance of the wood radiate a refined aesthetics, which is completed with the special choices of furniture.
The gray corner sofa and the two elegant armchairs encircle the unique aesthetics, coffee tables made of marble and lacquer, while the space is dominated by the impressive, elliptical lamp designed by Jacco Maris, an element of luxury and high aesthetics. Behind the sofa, a custom wooden construction of modern design, hosts books and decorative design.
The warmth of the wood and the refined options are adopted in the bathrooms, with the atmospheric lighting completing the feeling of absolute purity.
Our ultimate goal was to create a home that inspires the feeling of warm hospitality, while representing high-tech aesthetics, without glaring design and decorative options.
