A wonderful surprise awaits the visitor as soon as he passes the entrance of the ONOMA (NAME) Hotel. A unique high-ceilinged space hosted by the giant seeker who welcomes us in the most imaginative, playful and traveler friendly hotel in the city. The hotel was housed in an existing office building, 4,800 m2, next to the railway station.
The aim of the study team was to create an original hotel targeted at the contemporary traveler, who loves design, art, technology, and bespoke services. Architectural design was undertaken by Kouloukouris + Associates, while Concept and Interior Design was under Architectural Office Makridis Associates. Close and continuous cooperation was constantly happening with advertising agency TRIA, responsible for the corporate identity and public relations of the Hotel. The outcome of the partnership of these groups, but at the same time under the inspired guidance of the owner Michalis Chrysochoidis, managing director of Anatolia Hospitality Group, an updated hospitality unit was created with 83 atmospheric rooms, original public areas, innovative event rooms and imaginative secret spots, which constitute the small treasures of the unit (street art spots, basketball court, sea view terrace, photo corner, gaming center etc.).
The mood in both the public areas and the more private ones, always has a playful character and is intensely artistic. Behind every decision and every touch of spaces there is the willingness and the intention for all spaces to be treated in a subversive way to be able to offer unique experiences. The bathroom area is integrated within the room as a result for the nonexistence of the standard layout, while a single piece of furniture running through the space is transformed from an open dressing room into a minibar and an office.
In the area of the entrance, the unique reception is displayed, in the shape of a sphere that emphasizes the youthful and playful character of the lobby. A special point of interest is the mural of the well-known street artist Cacao Rocks which culminates in an interesting dialogue with the giant sculpture toy Seeker. An unexpected green courtyard at the back of the building, complements the reception areas.
The charm of the Hotel is also enhanced by the two wonderful rooftops on the last level. Finally, a pleasant surprise is also hidden in the premises of the main stairwell, which has been transformed into an exhibition space giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy periodic Art exhibitions.
