Eagles Palace in Ouranoupoli is undergoing a comprehensive transformation that reconnects its 1970s architectural heritage with a contemporary hospitality experience. Inspired by the surrounding landscape and the monastic architecture of Mount Athos, the redesign interprets the contrast between the mountain’s dramatic verticality and the horizontal expanse of the Aegean Sea through materiality, spatial flow and atmosphere.
The project includes the complete redesign of the main building’s guest rooms and the reconfiguration of its principal communal spaces. Earthy terracotta, olive green and deep blue are combined with natural textures, handcrafted surfaces and bespoke details to create a calm, timeless identity. Murals, mosaics, crafted timber elements and Byzantine-inspired patterns reinterpret local cultural references through a contemporary lens. From the central atrium and Melathron to the stained-glass feature of the Sunset Bar, the building’s history is not left in the past. It is reinterpreted, evolved and woven into its new identity.
